Refuges

In the Buila-Vânturarița National Park there are two tourist refuges rebuilt by the volunteers of the Kogayon Association in 2009 and 2011, respectively:

  1. Curmătura Builei Refuge (1450 m) – is located in the middle of the Buila-Vânturarița ridge, between the Piatra and Albu mountains. You can reach it on the mountain trails that start from the villages of Pietreni, Bărbăți and Cheia. It has two rooms with hoods and a window, which can accommodate 20 tourists if needed. In front of the refuge there is also room for approx. 20 tents. There is also a barn nearby, and springs with good water are found in 10-15 minutes, on both sides of the ridge, at Troță (to the north) and at Obârsia Otăsăului (to the south). Refuge has no stove and open fire is strictly prohibited inside. The purpose of the refuge is shelter in case of emergency. When leaving, it must be left clean, the doors and shutters must be closed and all the garbage produced must be evacuated by tourists outside the national park.
